We've transitioned Mason into the big tub. The first time we tried it didn't go over too well, he screamed and screamed. We went back to bathing him in his little tub in the sink where he splashed the whole kitchen and I end up drenched. We tried the big tub again and he seems to enjoy it this time(yay)

My little guy is SIX MONTHS!!
I can't believe how much has changed in the past six months. Six months and a few days ago I was wondering when I was going to meet this little baby of mine. I didn't know if I would have a boy or a girl or when he or she would decide to show up.
Six months ago today I was in the hospital with a newborn. He was just over 24 hours old and as cute as could be. He would just cry, eat, sleep, pee & poop.
Fast forward six months and he's smiling, laughing, sitting, rolling and just full of personality. I swear he's going to start crawling any day. He's been trying for a couple weeks now. Since our house is for sale we're not baby proofing that much yet. We'll save all that fun stuff for the next house. I'm going to be in trouble soon!
Yesterday, on his 6th month-day we took Mason swimming for the first time. I wasn't sure how he'd like it, because the pool was still pretty cold. It was the first nice day we've had in a long time here in CT. He actually seemed to enjoy himself. He wasn't full of smiles, but he didn't start screaming. I was quite surprised because I almost screamed when I went into the cold water.

Mason's eating solids!
We started Mason on solids at 5 1/2 months. He wasn't too sure of it the first day, but he loves it now. We skipped cereal and went straight to banana's. Every 4 days we introduce a new solid and watch for signs of an allergic reaction. Besides banana's he's also had avocado, sweet potato & acorn squash. Right now he's only eating 1-2 times a day. I'll feed him in the morning and then sometimes he'll get some more in the late afternoon. At this time it's only for practice, not so much for meals and nutritional value. He gets everything he needs from breast milk.
I make all of his baby food myself. It's really easy and much cheaper. Plus I love knowing everything that is going into his baby food. http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ is a great resource.

Hand blender to puree the food
I make large batches and freeze them into one ounce ice cubes. I usually pull out of the freezer what I need for his next meal and stick it in the fridge to thaw. I actually need to order more because two are not enough when I make a large batch.our stash so far: bananas, avocados, apples, peaches, acorn squash, sweet potatoes

Father's Day
Yesterday was Chris' first Father's Day. We were actually working on getting the house ready most of the day - but it was still nice to be able to spend the day together. Chris works very long days so it's nice when has a day off, even if it's spent cleaning.
Chris' parents and Mason's Godparents came over for dinner last night where Chris cooked us a delicious meal of bbq ribs and chicken.
I did "DAD" pictures for Chris and framed them.

Dad's birthday
So this post is a couple weeks late. I've been slacking on putting pictures on the computer. I have a good excuse though. We've been working on putting the house on the market and it will be listed on Monday! I'm nervous about having an infant and a 70 lb lab that I'll have to get out of the house for showings, and somehow keep the house spotless. Wish us luck!!
Chris turned 26 on June 9. Mason was eyeing the cake while dad wasn't looking.
And he found the cake

Weight Check
As of yesterday Mason weighs 15 lbs 2 1/2 oz. His last weight check was 3 weeks ago and he was 14 lbs 6 oz. I was really hoping that he would have gained over a pound, but he's still doing pretty well. He's still just around 25th percentile for weight. I was hoping he would go up a little but I'm happy he's not going down.
We have his 6 month check-up July 8. As long as he's still hanging out around the 25th percentile I think I'm going to stop going to the LC for weight checks. He's hitting all of his milestone and he's still growing. He's in the 75th percentile for length so that's where the most of this growth is going. I think I just have some anxiety left over from all the troubles we had with nursing in the beginning. I just need to get it in my mind that everything is going well and if the pediatrician isn't concerned I shouldn't be either.

4 Generations
I keep on forgetting to post this. Mason has finally met both of his Great-Grandparents. His maternal Great-Grandma lives just over an hour away and he gets to see her on a monthly basis. His paternal Great-Grandpa lives in Washington state and he recently got to meet him when he visited for Mason's baptism.

Long Island
We went to Long Island for the weekend. I didn't take many pictures because my mother-in-law was with us and she takes more than enough pictures for the both of us! Mason went to the beach for the first time. We set up his tent (which is so cute!) and the beach blanket only to realize that there were a million bugs there attacking us. We only stayed for a few minutes before the bugs drove us out.
Mason also went on his first boat ride. Like the beach - that didn't last very long either. He was fine when we were going slow, but once our friend Trevor started going faster Mason began to wail. Hopefully Mason will begin to like the boat more when we're out on the lake and Chris is driving.

Post Baptism Photo Shoot
I didn't have many pictures of just Mason in his outfit, so I dressed him back up and we had a mini photoshoot. He's already getting used to the big black camera in his face and sometimes smiles when he sees it. I am so happy that we got the DSLR before our honeymoon. I would love to take a class to learn more, but for now I'm teaching myself.

Mason's Baptism
Yesterday Mason was Baptized. He was so good during it and only got cranky right at the end of the service. We were so happy to share this special day in our son's life with our family.
