Disney | Part I

I have a feeling this trip is going to need several posts because I have a TON of photos and have trouble weeding out which ones to share. We went to Disney World May 15-19 with my dad & step mom (Poppy & Gracky).  It was a LONG travel day for all of us.  We left here around 6:30 to drive to their house ( 1 1/2 hours away) to get picked up by the car service and brought to the airport.  There was a bit of a car seat issue but I won't get into that.  It all worked out and we got to the airport in time.  I do really want to write a car seat post sometime in the near future though.

This was Ryder's first plane ride and Mason's second.  Mason did incredible and Ryder had some issues but it was during nap time so I'm not really surprised. It didn't take long for him to get over his fit and fall asleep

We rented CARES harnesses from eBay (CARES kids fly safe Rentals) and they were great! The seller sent them in bags with instructions, an instructional DVD, & a laminated card saying it was illegal to be denied the use of them and what to show/say to them if you were told otherwise.

We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village. It was amazing. We had a two bedroom suite and it was so roomy. There were three full bathrooms (more than we needed!) The master bedroom had a King bed with a bathroom. We had a little "wing" off of the living room. There was a door dividing the hallway and our "wing". We had a mini hallway that led to two closets, our bedroom with two Queen beds & our bathroom.

The next day we started off with Chef Mickey. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto. The kids weren't a fan of the characters up close but they did love watching them from a distance. Most of my pictures are of them trying to get away!

After breakfast we went to the Magic Kingdom and got to see the rope drop. I had no clue they put on a show before opening. I'm so glad we got there early enough!

We headed towards fantasy land to take the boys on some rides. They had a great time and It's a Small World was Ryder's favorite ride! He was dancing, clapping & hopping up and down. He loved it!

(thanks for the pic dad! Look I was there too :))Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug

Ryder took a nap while Mason continued to go on rides.

Mason really enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear ride. I wish we were able to go on it again!

We ate lunch and later Mason fell asleep. Ryder and I went back on It's a Small World and Chris bought Mickey ears for the boys.

Looks like I'll end this here. It's most time to go to the park and the boys are getting antsy! Next post will be Animal Kingdom!

Looks like a blast! I hate to ask - but what was the car seat snafu? I was thinking of renting the CARES harness in lieu of bringing the seat on the plane. Was that an issue?

Julie - They did travel pretty well. It was the little guy's nap time so he had a mini melt down but nothing too bad and then he fell asleep.

Jen - The CARES harness was great! I can't recommend it enough. The car seat snafu had to deal with the car seats the car service brought us. Besides the fact that they were old (which we would have just dealt with if we could get a tight installation) my husband is used to latch and wasn't able to get a tight installation. The car seat was sliding all over the place and the other car seat didn't have the seat belt clip. We ended up installing our own car seats and they brought them back when they picked us up. It was a little nerve wracking because they came at the time we needed to leave - didn't come early since installing car seats takes time.
