Driving 12+ hours w/ 3 month old = pure torture

We took our first family vacation to North Carolina. We left around Mason's bedtime and drove through the night - hoping he would sleep most of the way. Of course that didn't happen. The way down he decided he had to poop three times in the first couple hours. After that he was pretty good though. He would wake up every two hours to eat and then he'd go right back to sleep. The way home we weren't so lucky. He didn't torture us with poop, but instead he decided he would only sleep for a total of five hours throughout the trip. The poor little thing was so tired he took a five hour nap when we got home and then shortly after that another three our nap.

Despite the car ride we had a wonderful trip. Mason met Aunt Julie, Uncle Mike, Sarah & Jake for the first time. We decided that Aunt Julie must be the baby whisperer because Mason has never smiled for anyone that much before (besides mom and dad of course). Hopefully it warms up here soon because Mason really seemed to enjoy being outside in the sun.

New Pictures

I got a new camera lens and of course Mason was my favorite little subject. My family also got attacked by the camera at my Grandma's birthday party.

It's been a while

Mason's been keeping his mommy busy!

He is full of smiles these days and loves to "talk" to us. His sleep has been getting much better so I'm a much happier mommy. He's starting to get onto a routine by himself a little bit. He goes to bed between 6-7. Sleeps for 6-9 hours (the 9 hours was only once, hopefully it will happen again soon!) then he's up every 3-4 hours until 7-8 am. I would love for him to sleep for 12+ hours, but I will definitely take this over what used to be every 2-3 hours.

Some exciting news - Mason rolled over on Saturday March 7th! He was doing tummy time and I was taking some pictures of him, next thing I know he's on his back. I flipped him back over and he did it again and again. He did it 3-4 times that day but has only done it once since. Luckily I got it on video :)
